Drywall Pro-Cut is one of the leading providers of interior lining systems. We offer offsite component production which helps to reduce time, waste, and risk onsite. Our British Gypsum was used to support Morgan Sindall on Project Medius. The plan was to transform the site of the old Great Central Railway into a mixed-use development site which would include two hotels and Grade-A office space. The two Accor hotels were the buildings using our British Gypsum plasterboard. For the first time ever in the UK, one of their hotels Novotel was going to have bathroom pods fitted in the new builds and our British Gypsum was to be used in these pods to support this 26-week project.
The Job
Our team supported Morgan Sindall on Project Medius, helping to transform the site of the old Great Central Railway into a mixed-use development site which would include two hotels and Grade-A office space over a period of 26-weeks.
British Gypsum plasterboard cut by Drywall Procut was used in the two Accor hotels, one of them being a Novotel which for the first time ever, was being fitted with bathroom pods which included Drywall Procut cut British Gypsum plasterboard.
What We Did
The team attended the original site with contractors from Morgan Sindall to conduct initial surveys to determine which elements of the project could be produced offsite. The boards and studs were the main focus of this project as these were to be used for creating the bathroom pod linings.
All of the measurements were then sent off to the production team at Drywall Pro-Cut to prepare. Once complete everything was clearly labelled and packaged according to the specific areas of the site the materials were to be used on, along with our marked-up drawings to help with the installation process. The team were then able to press on with fitting the boards.
British Gypsum Plasterboard For Project Medius
To begin with, the team attended the original site with the contractors at Morgan Sindall to conduct all of the surveys. This is in order to determine what could be produced offsite. The boards and studs were the main focus of this project as these were to be used for creating the pod linings. In these early stages of the project, it was vital to find out everything we needed to know from the main contractors.
Off site Production At Drywall Pro Cut
We then sent all of the measurements we took on the site back to the production team at Drywall Pro-Cut. Once cut, everything was clearly labelled and packaged according to the specific areas of the site the materials were to be used on. With this information available straight away, including our own mark-up drawings, the teams on site were able to get started on the installation right away without having to waste time determining which pieces belong where.
Off Site Production Saves Time And Money
By enlisting the services and products of Drywall Pro-Cut, Morgan Sindall was able to save a whopping 342 days of onsite time by using offsite products. Working with materials made offsite meant that they had to spend little time and cost preparing the materials that were needed to fulfil the project’s demands.
